What to Automate First in a Small Business

Do not start with a strategy. Start with the job that ruins Monday.

The order that works

1. Money that is late because of typing. Invoices. Receipts. Anything that sits in a PDF pile. Mistakes here cost cash.

2. Work that walks because nobody chased. Leads, follow ups not happening, after hours enquiries. Silence is not a no. It is a leak.

3. Copying between tools. Spreadsheets, too many apps. You are the integration. That is a bad job.

4. The pack you rebuild every time. New client paperwork, quotes, Monday reports.

Leave anything that is a different conversation every time. That is a person.

One at a time

Prove the hours come back. Then the next. A list of twelve automations is how nothing ships. How to automate is the longer version.

What first looks like in a week

Pick the job. Write the steps. Show us three real examples (redact what you like). We say yes, not yet, or never. If yes, we build around the tools you already pay for.

You still check the odd ones. That is not a failure. That is how you sleep.

Where Fernside fits

We build the first loop. If you want the split before you spend, advisory or hire versus automate.

What ruins Monday? Book a discovery call and name it.
